Cannon Equipment in Cannon Falls to close permanently; employees to be laid off

CANNON FALLS, Minn. (KTTC) – According to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), the State Rapid Response Team received a Federal Worker Adjustment and Restriction Act (WARN) letter from Cannon Equipment, LLC, informing of its permanent closure and layoffs.

Due to the closure, employees will be permanently laid off on Dec. 31, or within 14 days after that date. The State Rapid Response Team noted that it is unknown if the employees are represented by a union or if bumping rights exist.

About 45 employees are expected to be laid off. The positions affected in the layoff are, but not limited to, the following:

Welder

Maintenance

Production Supervisor

Metal Finishing

Production

Plating

Logistics Manager

Custodial Maintenance

Water Spider

Metal Fabrication

Laser Tube Operator

Production Lead

Production Lead - Welding

Warehouse and Logistics

Continuous Improvement Specialist

HR Business Partner

Director of Manufacturing
